Everest Base Camp Short Trek is a walk all the way to base camp and a ride in a helicopter back to Kathmandu. The Everest Base Camp Trek starts from Kathmandu by an approximately 30 minutes flight to Lukla. Once you reach Lukla, you will meet our support staff who will carry your bags for the entire time. While they are preparing and packing for your duffle bags, you will have some time to acclimatize from the high altitude. You will then walk to and stay overnight in Phakding.

We are committed to support all of our clients so they can successfully reach their goals to the Everest Base Camp without any problems. The overnights stay in Namche Bazaar and Dingbuche are included in this trek as part of the acclimatization. This trek brings you into the heart of the Sherpa homeland towards the base of Mt. Everest and exploring some of the most famous Buddhist temples and monasteries in the region. This trek will take you to a 5545 meters which called Kalapatter where you can see all the panoramic/360degree view of the high peaks of Mt Pumori, Lhotse Peak, South Col, Mt Amadambla, Lhotse, Nuptse and the Mount Everest.

After putting your step to the base camp of the world highest mountain will take you through Khumbu Glacier and reach the height of 5,380 m (17,600 ft) above sea level than your hiking is over after base camp and Katlapatter, so than you are flying back by helicopter from Gorapshep to Kathmandu. We will transfer you to your hotel to rest overnight before your final departure the next day.

The best season for EBC trekking are mid of february to June and September to end of December. At that time properly suitable for trekking day time is normal but at night there is will be bit cold but if you have good down jacket and sleeping bag that is fine. During these time the weather will be clean and stable. So that you will see the best view of the white mountain and green valley.

Everest base camp trekking is the most popular trekking which will be lifetime dream of every people. There is some difficulty on the way but if you prepare for that and advance with your mentally and physically will be no problem on the way of your EBC trekking. Trekking to Everest Base Camp and fly out by Helicopter will start from same place of Everest base camp trekking and you will reach to 5545m (Kalapatther) of the altitude. So there is main problem is high altitude sickness. But if you care your health, maintain your space of walking and drink more water on the way of your trekking you will be avoid this risk. 

Normally on Everest Base Camp Trek is 6-7 hours walking destination everyday from your camp to cam. And if you are not able to finished your day to reach your final of the day destination won’t be any problem  because there is a ‘teahouse on the way of your dally route to find the food and accommodations for your night. 

Also many people doing Everest Base Camp trekking in the monsoon as well. But at that time the weather is changeable and rany. If you want to challenge with whether and interested to feel rain this will be the suitable time for you. And in December last weeks and january that will be coldest time of the year and is can be a snow during your hiking so it will be very cold or freezing cold. Also if there is snow on the way you hike that will makes hard to walk as well.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival DayArrive in Kathmandu, meet and greet by Nepal Hiking Adventure (NHA) staff and transfer to hotel. A short briefing about the program, rest and overnight in the hotel.

Day 02 Pre-trip meeting and sightseeing in Kathmandu valleyApprox. 30 minutes flight to Lukla 2,800m, 9-10km (2 1/2 -3hr walk) to Phakding at 2,652m.
Gentle walk with view of Kusum-Kangru 6,369m crossing a short suspension bridge to Phakding village
Overnight at guest house near the bank of the Dudh-Kosi River

Day 03 Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla & trek to PhakdingThe entrance of Sagarmatha National Park
The way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum kangru Mt.Everest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak can be seen.
Overnight at a guesthouse famed Namche Bazaar, the colourful houses are situated in an amphitheater U shaped bowl.

Day 04 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m approx. 5-6 hrs.The entrance of Sagarmatha National Park and the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum kangru Mt.Everest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak can be seen. Overnight at a guesthouse famed Namche Bazaar, the colourful houses are situated in an amphitheater U shaped bowl.

Day 05Rest Day at Namche Bazaar.Suggested activities a short walk uphill to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter for acclimatization. An interesting museum with all kinds of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region. Overnight at guest house

Day 06Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m. Approx 5 hours walk. Overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thermasharkhu and Kwangde-ri peak. Very old Thyangboche Monastery or Ghompa, is reached for the overnight stop. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east.Overnight at guest house

Day 07Trek to Dingboche 4,358m.Approx. 5-6 hourClose-up view of Ama-Dablam and enter the Imja tse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse with view of the eastern snowcapped mountains including the Island peak or Imja tse 6,189m. Overnight at guest house

Day 08Trek to Lobuche 4,928m. Approx. 5 hoursSee a number of memorial of the unfortunate climbers, who died in expeditions around the mountain of this region. Overnight at guest house

Day 09Trek to Gorakshep 5,160m & continue to Everest base Camp 5,357mYou can see the icy-glacial pond and icebergs down below of Khumbu glacier.
Break and lunch at Gorakshep continue towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall on reaching at the foot of number one, a great view of the Khumbu icefall awaits you. Overnight at guest house

Day 10Morning hike to Kalapathar 5,545m and flight back to lukla and continue kathmandu. The view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks within a stone throw distance, between the summit of Nuptse and Lho-la and Lhotse and with all the higher snowcapped giants that dominates all around. flight back to Kathmandu you can see the best view of the Everest region. NHA staff revived and transfer to the hotel.

Day 11Final Departure.Last day in Kathmandu, free time to rest or last minute shopping. NHA will provide the airport transfer for the final departure

We moved to the Everest Base Camp excursion through Nepal Hiking Experience Business, our manual, Ram, was Good! He also made the trip much more fun and enjoyable for us and took care of all the way up the mountain. I had been very sick towards the finish and they organized everything to catch me off the mountain and to hospital! They visited me at the hospital and assessed in always to make sure that I was fine.
