On the second day of the Sleeping at Everest Base Camp Trek, you get to explore culturally and historically rich places in Kathmandu. It includes the Pashupatinath Temple, the Syambhunath or the Monkey Temple, the Kathmandu Durbar Square, and the Boudhanath Stupa. You also have an important meeting where you learn all about the trek, what to bring, and meet the other people joining the adventure. It's a day to prepare and feel pumped for our big journey in the Himalayas.

On Day 3, you take a thrilling flight to Lukla, enjoying exceptional aerial views. Then, you begin the trek to Phakding at 2,620 meters, which takes 3-4 hours. The path runs beside the Dudh Koshi River, showing us beautiful villages, green scenery, and suspension bridges. It's just the beginning of our incredible journey to Everest Base Camp!

During the peak seasons, flights to and from Lukla might depart from Ramechap Airport. It helps manage air traffic and avoid delays. Thus, Ramechap, located 130 km east of Kathmandu, becomes the central place for Lukla flights. If you fly from Ramechap, you must wake up early and catch a 12-minute flight to Lukla.

On Day 4, you start walking towards Namche Bazaar, which sits at 3,440 meters. You follow a path beside the Dudh Koshi River, cross high-suspension bridges, and walk through rhododendron-filled green forests. You pass through small Jorsalle and Monjo villages, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. While trekking, you can look at incredible mountains like Thamserku and Kongde Ri. And when you're close to Namche, you get the first glimpse of Mount Everest! Namche Bazaar is a busy and fun town with many shops, cozy places to stay, and fantastic mountain views. It's like a mix of culture and nature that's amazing to see.

On Day 5, the main focus is adjusting to the high altitude in Namche Bazaar. You take it slow to help the body adapt to the height and prevent feeling unwell as you climb higher. Throughout the day, you wander around the town, taking gentle strolls and admiring the mesmerizing views. You can visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum, which teaches you about the locals' way of life while enjoying the breathtaking sights of Everest and the nearby mountains. Additionally, you can make a short hike to Everest View Hotel to enjoy the panoramic Himalayan Range.

Begin the day in Namche Bazaar with an early rise greeted by the stunning mountain sunrise. Enjoy a hearty breakfast and start your trek to Tengboche. Along the trail, you can enjoy the captivating views of Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam as you traverse through Kyangjuma. Resume your journey through rhododendron forests and small Sherpa settlements, reaching Phunki Tenga by noon for a replenishing lunch. Embark on a steep ascent towards Tengboche, navigating pine and rhododendron forests, possibly encountering Himalayan Thars or vibrant pheasants. Arrive at Tengboche, renowned for its Tengboche Monastery, where you'll check into your accommodation and explore the monastery. Wrap up the day with dinner, sharing tales with fellow trekkers, relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere, and preparing for the adventures ahead.

On Day 7, you wake up to the refreshing mountain air and incredible views around Tengboche. After a filling breakfast, you embark on the trek towards Dingboche. Today, you'll cross the Imja River and walk along it, absorbing the stunning landscapes, scenic trails, and alpine vegetation. Stop for lunch at Pangboche, rejuvenating and refueling for the climb ahead. Resume the trek, taking in breathtaking views of peaks like Mt.Lhotse (8,516 m), Mount Taboche (6367 m), Pokalde (5806 m), and Nuptse (7861 m) and Island Peak (5,087 m). After a few hours, you arrive at Dingboche, a picturesque settlement surrounded by mountains. Spend the late afternoon exploring the village, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

On Day 8 in Dingboche (4,410 m), you get a break to get used to the high altitude and relax. Start your day by enjoying the stunning mountain views and having a relaxed breakfast. Take a casual walk through Dingboche, checking out the village and local spots like monasteries or chatting with the friendly locals to learn about their social life. Try some easy activities, like a gentle hike, to help your body adjust to the altitude. Finally, get a good night's sleep to prepare for tomorrow's trekking.

Day 9 starts with an early wake-up from Dingboche. Pack up your things after having breakfast; you begin walking towards Lobuche. Take breaks and Keep going along rocky paths and challenging parts of the trail while enjoying the fabulous views until you reach Thukla or Dughla for lunch. After lunch, the route from Dughla to Lobuche involves a steeper climb and more rugged terrain as it leads further into the Khumbu Valley. Enjoying the beautiful view of glaciers and peaks like Pumori, Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Lingtren, you arrive in Lobuche.

Day 10 starts with an early wake-up from Lobuche. Having a light breakfast, you begin walking towards Everest Base Camp. The path might be rough, but the views are amazing. The distance is around 2.5 kilometers (about 1.5 miles), generally taking 2 to 3 hours. While walking, you'll see impressive snowy mountains like Pumori and Nuptse, glaciers, and a massive view of the Himalayas. Finally, you'll reach Gorak Shep. The trail from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp consists of rocky and uneven paths, with some sections across the Khumbu Glacier. 

It's a moderate trek with no significant altitude gain, but the terrain might be challenging due to rocky moraines and sometimes shifting glacier ice. The trek usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Overnight at Everest Base Camp under the world's tallest summit, Mount Everest, feels impressive and memorable. It's so quiet, and you can sense the history of climbers who've been there before. The air is fresh and peaceful amidst the tall mountains. At night, looking up at the stars with the world's highest, Mt. Everest, makes you feel connected to nature's beauty, leaving you in awe and humility about humanity and nature's strength.

After staying at Everest Base Camp, you head back to Gorak Shep. You will walk the same way back as before. It's around 3 kilometers (almost 1.8 miles) and usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The path has rocks and moraines in some parts near the Khumbu Glacier. Walk this route again feeling proud of what you've achieved.

On Day 12, you climb up Kala Patthar at 5,545 m. After 3 hours of ascending, you reach the viewpoint. You can see 360-degree views of Everest and other Himalayan mountains from the top. The sunrise from Kala Patthar is breathtaking, making it a perfect time for stunning pictures. After that, they come back down, remembering the beautiful sights they saw. Now, you start walking from Gorak Shep to Pheriche, following the trails you've already taken. It's about 8 kilometers (around 5 miles) and might take 3 to 4 hours, depending on how fast you walk and rest. The path goes down and has rocks but also some flatter parts, passing beautiful views and Sherpa villages.

The walk from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar is around 20 kilometers (about 12.5 miles) and can take 6 to 8 hours. You'll walk downhill from the higher Pheriche area, going through rocky paths and forests, sometimes uphill. Along the way, you'll pass through villages like Pangboche and Tengboche. Enjoying the majestic views of the mountains and crossing the suspension bridges, you reach Namche.

The trail from Namche Bazaar to Lukla takes about 6 to 8 hours to trek. Trekking from Namche Bazaar to Lukla requires endurance and covers various landscapes before reaching Lukla, the starting point for most treks in the Everest region.
