The best time to go on the Everest Base Camp trek is during Spring (March to April) and Autumn (late September to November). These are peak season to go on this trek. The climate is also fine with a little chill in the air. The views are also fantastic during this time of the year.
Whereas, June to mid-September are the Monsoon, which is not so preferable time to go on the trek as climate become wet and humid making the trail slippery and risky.
During Winter (December to February) very few trekkers go on this trek as region becomes extremely cold and receives heavy snowfall. Chilled wind makes the journey even tough, however, the views are prominent as the sky becomes clear and calm. Therefore, this time is perfect for photographers to capture the best views of the Himalayas and its sceneries.

Day 01Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Trek to Phakding (2,700 m)We will wake up early and have a light fresh breakfast. After that, we will take a short scenic flight to Lukla. Lukla is considered as the second most dangerous airport in the world. We will get to see stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas from flight.
Upon reaching Lukla, we will begin trekking towards Phkading village. As we step forward, we will see dramatic change in the environment and the mountain scenery becomes quite prominent. The trail will take us to Cheplung village and from here we descend towards the Dudh Koshi River. We will reach Phakding village, which is located in the Dudh Koshi River Valley on north side of Lukla.
Day 02Trek From Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)Today, the trail ascends towards famous Namche Bazar. The first part of the trail will take us to Jorsale village, and further, we will trek towards Monjo village. Monjo is also an entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park. From here onwards, we will trek through the national park, which includes several small rivers, forests, streams, and take us to the Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is a biggest village as well as commercial hub of the Khumbu region.
Day 03Acclimatization in Namche (3,440 m)Today is our first rest day in the Namche Bazar to make sure our body get acclimatized with altitude we have already touched. We will spend our day exploring the area. After having breakfast, we will hike to the Everest View Hotel, which is popular for its captivating views of the Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and many other mountains. We will spend some time here and return back to Namche, and further, visit Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum. Rest of the day, we will eat delicious food and interact with locals to know them and their lifestyle better.
Day 04Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3,860 m) 5 hoursWe will begin trekking and reach Phungki Thanka from where we will get to witness superb views of the Everest. We will then follow right side of the Dudh Koshi River and ascend to the Tengboche village. On the way, we will go through beautiful forests of rhododendron along with gorgeous sceneries.
Tengboche is a lovely village surrounded by high hills covered with rhododendron trees. We will visit the Tengboche monastery, which is the biggest and oldest monastery of Khumbu region. We will get to see enchanting views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m), and numerous other mountains from here.
Day 05Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) 5.30 hoursToday, we will trek through a dense forest of rhododendron, birch, and conifer. On the way, we will get to see lovely views of Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), and Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Further, we will descend to Debuche and cross the Imja River on a suspension bridge. We will reach Pangboche village and continue our trek towards Dingboche, the Summer Valley of Khumbu region. Dingboche is another picturesque village with fine fields of potato, barley, and buckwheat.
Day 06Acclimatization in Dingboche 4.30 hoursIt is our second rest day at Dingboche to acclimatize our body with the altitude. We will again spend our day exploring the area. After having a warm delicious breakfast, we will hike to Nagarjun, which is located at 5,100 meters. Hike will be a little difficult as the trail include a few steep sections. From the top, we will see panoramic views of Lobuche East (6,119 m), Lobuche West ( 4,940 m), Taboche Peak (6,501 m), Mt. Kangtega (6,782 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m). If weather is clear we will also get to see Mt. Makalu (8,481 m). We will return back to Dingboche to spend the night.
Day 07Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) 5 hoursWe will begin trekking and reach Pheriche village where we will come across the Trekkers Aid Post. This aid post is run by the western volunteer doctors and assisted by the Himalayan Rescue Association. From here, we will trek and reach Chupki Lhara and continue descending towards the Khumbu glacier moraine. We will get to see snow-capped peaks like Khumbutse (6,665 m), Pumori (7,161 m), Mahalangur Himal (contains four mountains above 4,000 meters), and Mt. Lingtren (6,749 m). Crossing the moraine, we will reach Lobuche where we will stay overnight.
Day 08Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) then back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) 8 hoursToday is the most thrilling day for us as we will trek to the world-famous destination, Everest Base Camp. We will begin trekking early in the morning along with stunning view of Khumbu Glacier and reach Gorakshep. From here, we will ascend all the way up to the Everest Base Camp. We will see breath-taking views of Khumbu Icefall, Lingtren (6,749 m), Khumbutse (6,665 m), and numerous mountains of the Himalayas. After soaking the divine beauty of the Himalayan nature, we will return back to Gorak Shep where we will stay for the night.
Day 09Hike up to Kala Pathar (5,545 m) early in the morning and trek down to Pheriche (4,120 m) 7 hoursWe will wake up super early in the morning and have little breakfast. After that, we will begin ascending towards Kala Patthar from where we will get to see the 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and other surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the Kala Patthar, we will see one of the most glorious sunrises of our life in the backdrop of Himalayas. We will spend some good time here and trek back to Gorak Shep. Further, we will descend down to Pheriche village where we will stop for the night.
Day 10Trek to Namche (3,440 m) 4 hoursFollowing the Imja River, we will ascend towards Tengboche. From here, we will again through beautiful forest of rhododendron, fir, and conifer along with gorgeous sceneries. On the way, we will also get to see captivating views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m), and numerous other mountains. We will reach Phungki Thanka and pass Kyangjuma before reaching Namche Bazar.
Day 11Trek to Lukla (2,840 m) 7 hoursWe will descend steeply towards a river. Crossing the river on a suspension bridge, we will trek through small villages filled with chortens, mani walls, prayer flags, and gompas. Further, we will trek through a forest of rhododendron & pine and ascend to reach Lukla. We will spend our day relaxing and celebrating our successful trip.
Day 12Morning flight back to Kathmandu 30 minutesToday, we are going to fly back to Kathmandu. We will wake up early and have last breakfast with the heart-melting views of Himalayas. After that, we will fly back to Kathmandu with the last views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Kathmandu airport, we will head to our hotel.
